Marvell Technology is seeking a Senior Staff Optical Validation Engineer to join the Optical Connectivity Group in Santa Clara, CA. The role focuses on developing test, calibration, and optimization methods for optical interconnect products, including optical transceivers and co-packaging optics.
What you'll do
- Develop test, calibration, and optimization methods for high-speed optical interconnect products such as optical transceivers and co-packaging optics. - Design, develop, and maintain test station and test software platforms for scalable testing. - Execute bring-up, debug, calibration, EVT, and DVT. - Analyze test data and generate comprehensive engineering reports.
What you'll need
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields with 3+ years of experience, Master's degree with 5+ years, or Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years in design validation for fiber-optical communication systems. - Strong knowledge of optical communication components, including optical DSP, coherent DSP, high speed modulators, receivers, transimpedance amplifiers, and RF amplifiers. - Strong knowledge in optical communication systems impairments and compensations, signal integrity along the data path, amplifiers, and tunable filters. - Solid understanding of RF/microwave engineering and photonics fundamentals. - Strong programming proficiency in Python. - Hands-on experience working with electrical and optical test equipment, including optical spectrum analyzers, digital communication analyzers, high-speed electric scopes, and wavelength and power meters. - Familiarity with signal integrity, PAM4 Serdes, VNA, and TDR.
