About the role
This role involves the design of complex Analog IPs and sub-blocks, integrating IPs and subsystems, and owning major IPs within large PMICs within the Power Business Unit.
What you'll do
- Design and own complex IPs such as Charge Pumps, Buck Converters, Source-Sink LDOs, Ultra-low power Oscillators, Temperature Sensors, Current Sense, SAR ADCs, and Protection circuits.
- Implement and compensate Control Loops and Analog feedback loops, understanding trade-offs in compensation strategies.
- Break down block-level specifications from top-level chip requirements and independently design complete switching converters (e.g., Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost) and LDOs.
- Analyze various control loop architectures (Constant Freq, Constant ON/OFF Time, Current mode) to meet converter-level performance.
- Work closely with layout leads from floor planning to Chip Top completion and verification, making trade-offs based on desired performance.
- Set up design flows and methodologies including checklists and reviews to ensure quality designs and Silicon success.
- Mentor Freshers and Junior engineers to enhance their technical skills.
- Lead/manage a small group of Engineers through all stages of IC development, ensuring high-quality silicon.
- Define protection for the I/O ring for ICs, understanding ESD and LU issues.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.
- 12+ years in Analog Circuit Design experience.
- Solid understanding and design experience of complex analog designs with full ownership.
- Experience with chip design, verification, silicon validation, debugs, and taking ICs to production.
- Conversant with standard design, extraction, and simulation flows & tools, optimizing setups based on Pre/Post (with/without) Parasitic using simulator options.
