About the role
Renesas Electronics is looking for a Senior Staff Quality Engineer to serve as the customer-facing quality lead for hyperscale datacenter and cloud customers. This individual-contributor role executes technical quality across semiconductor products used in AI compute, server, networking, storage, and power-delivery platforms.
What you'll do
- Act as the primary technical quality interface for hyperscale datacenter customers, leading quality reviews, executive updates, audits, and complex escalations.
- Drive end-to-end resolution of complex semiconductor quality issues from containment through root cause, corrective action, and effectiveness verification using 8D methods.
- Own customer quality performance analysis, including PPM, RMA, failure-analysis requests, scorecards, recurring trends, and qualification status.
- Coordinate investigations across wafer fab, assembly/test, product engineering, design, reliability, failure analysis, supply chain, and supplier quality.
- Partner with product groups and operations to guide design-for-quality, manufacturing robustness, reliability strategy, traceability, and safe-launch controls.
- Mentor cross-functional teams to improve the quality of failure-analysis requests, 8D reports, and closure packages.
What you'll need
- 10+ years of relevant experience with a BSEE, or 8+ years with an MSEE, or equivalent technical experience.
- Experience supporting hyperscale datacenter, cloud, AI, server, or networking customers in a customer-facing semiconductor quality role.
- Deep expertise in structured problem solving, root cause analysis, containment, corrective action, effectiveness verification, 8D, and customer communication.
- Comprehensive knowledge of semiconductor design and manufacturing flows across wafer fab, assembly, test, reliability, failure analysis, and qualification.
- Working knowledge of datacenter semiconductor quality and reliability methods, including JEDEC qualification, FMEA, control plans, statistical analysis, and traceability.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for customer meetings, audits, quality reviews, and escalation support.
