About the role
Keysight Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with CAD/CAM frontend development experience to develop scalable architecture and user-friendly solutions for optical design software. This role supports the ODE R&D team building engineering applications and UI platforms used in optical systems design.
What you'll do
- Build software solutions in C++ for optical design software tools used across consumer electronics. - Engage with subject matter experts in solution envisioning and feature development to lower user adoption thresholds. - Research, experiment, and develop enhancements to improve usability and transition UI stacks to modern technologies. - Employ modern development tools and practices to deliver high-quality, high-performance solutions. - Collaborate with developers, testers, and customer representatives in an agile environment.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Optics). - 5–10 years of software development experience. - Deep understanding of the C++ language across multiple years of experience. - Proficiency in Python. - Hands-on experience in frontend development and user workflow design on Windows platforms using Qt/QML, .Net, or MFC.
Nice to have
- Experience working with large commercial software systems with HPC. - Licensing and installer technology experience. - Experience developing CAD applications with a background in 3D geometry and numerical methods. - Experience developing shippable AI products or solutions. - Cross-platform development experience.
