What you'll do

- Develop modular and scalable software using C++ and Python on Linux OS environments within an Agile methodology. - Work across hard and soft real-time domains interacting with complex hardware interfaces and communication protocols, including Xilinx SoC, PLC, TCP/IP, and EtherCAT. - Guide software development for distributed control loops, multi-core boards, and platform environments. - Conduct unit testing and on-target testing to verify stability, interoperability, portability, and performance. - Evaluate technical issues, risks, and architecture dependencies while interfacing with stakeholders to clarify system requirements. - Participate in continuous process improvement activities across the software development lifecycle.

What you'll need

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering/science field. - At least 5 years of technical development experience delivering mid- to large-scale software projects. - Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, object-oriented design principles, and embedded development. - Proven experience programming for distributed control systems across Linux and VxWorks operating systems. - Demonstrated technical expertise in data management, TCP/IP, and real-time communication protocols. - Ability to work on-site in San Diego, CA and work in a cleanroom environment when needed.

Nice to have

- Experience in leadership or designing software for complex multi-processor distributed control systems. - Hands-on experience with refactoring for performance and scalability in multi-processor distributed architectures. - Understanding of NLP techniques for building chatbots, sentiment analysis, and language models. - Proficiency in AI frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and Hugging Face Transformers.
