About the role
This Senior Product Engineer oversees new chip product introduction, production ramp, yield sustaining, and yield improvement in foundries for the High Power Laser business. The position is based at the San Jose, Rose Orchard Fab.
What you'll do
- Drive yield improvement and product cost reduction post-production ramp from fabrication to final test. - Perform statistical data analysis and troubleshoot root causes for yield excursions in foundries. - Run process versus product parameter correlation to evaluate process/product margin and drive improvements. - Monitor and review day-to-day operations with foundries to meet quality and delivery goals. - Execute engineering material disposition at wafer acceptance test. - Support failure analysis for NPI, sustaining production, and RMA field returns.
What you'll need
- MS or PhD in electrical engineering, materials science, applied physics, or other relevant fields. - 0-3 years of hands-on experience in device design, wafer process, device assembly, and testing for either optoelectronics or semiconductor devices. - Understanding of semiconductor device process/physics. - Statistical data analysis experience (JMP or Minitab). - Familiarity with foundry operation models and failure analysis tools for semiconductor devices.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of III-V epi design and growth. - Experience with VCSEL or EEL.
