About the role
This role is for a Senior Scientist to join the Analytical & Metrology team, focusing on ultratrace elemental analysis using ICP-MS. The Scientist serves as a subject matter expert related to the characterization of metallic contaminates for semiconductor applications.
What you'll do
- Perform metallic impurity analysis using ICP-MS instrument.
- Develop analytical methods and drive continuous improvement of existing testing methods.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to determine root causes in product development and quality problems.
- Collaborate with the application team to solve customer quality complaints and provide solutions to technical issues.
- Document work in internal reporting systems and external publications.
- Develop and validate new methods for new sample matrices.
What you'll need
- Ph.D. in chemistry, environmental science, materials science or related field with 2 years of industry experience, or Master's Degree with 3+ years of experience.
- Practical knowledge and experience working with ICP-MS instrument, microwave digestion and sample preparation.
- Experience working in the chemical, semiconductor or related industry.
- Strong communication skills demonstrated by both oral presentations and written technical publications.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Ability to conduct projects independently and navigate ambiguity.
Nice to have
- Experience on other analytical techniques (GCMS, GC-QToF, LC-QToF, Py-GCMS, HPLC, FT-IR, and wet chemistry techniques).
