About the role
This role involves leading the development, validation, and continuous improvement of analytical methods for complex materials, mixtures, and formulations. You will apply analytical chemistry to support new product development and improve existing products.
What you'll do
- Support the development, optimization, validation, and transfer of analytical methods for complex analyses.
- Design and execute analytical experiments, interpret data, and communicate results through reports and presentations.
- Establish and document method performance characteristics, including detection limits, accuracy, precision, stability, robustness, and measurement-system capability.
- Evaluate, qualify, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation such as ICP-MS, ICP-OES, ion chromatography, HPLC, and FTIR.
- Prepare and maintain SOPs, work instructions, technical reports, method validation documentation, measurement-system analyses, and verification or qualification records.
- Provide technical guidance and training to laboratory colleagues on analytical instrumentation, methods, data interpretation, documentation, and safe laboratory practices.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
- At least three years of relevant experience in an analytical, R&D, or product-development laboratory environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing, validating, or improving analytical methods for complex materials, mixtures, formulations, or high-purity products.
- Working knowledge of ICP-MS or ICP-OES techniques.
- Understanding of measurement-system analysis, method capability, statistical analysis, root-cause investigation, and corrective-action principles.
- Experience preparing controlled technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, validation protocols, qualification records, and reports.

How we counted: 1040 open Process Engineering (Semiconductor Process) roles from 60 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 19 Sept 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Process, Fab & Equipment family row. Figures refresh nightly.
