What you'll do
- Lead Design for Reliability (DfR) activities throughout product development.
- Partner with engineering teams to identify, assess, and mitigate reliability risks for complex electrical and electromechanical systems.
- Apply reliability modeling, prediction, growth, and derating methods to improve system performance.
- Perform failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action activities to improve product reliability.
- Collaborate with design teams to evaluate new technologies and influence design decisions.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of reliability engineering experience supporting the design of electrical and electromechanical systems.
- Experience leading or facilitating Design FMEA (DFMEA) activities and Design for Reliability initiatives.
- Knowledge of reliability prediction, reliability growth, reliability budgeting, and component derating techniques.
- Experience performing failure analysis, root cause investigations, and environmental stress testing.
- Proficiency with reliability and statistical analysis tools such as Weibull++, BlockSim, Alta, or similar platforms.
- Experience using engineering simulation and analysis tools, including Ansys Sherlock and Ansys Mechanical.
- Working knowledge of electronic test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
Nice to have
- PhD in Reliability Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) or semiconductor test systems.
- Experience with fault-tolerant architectures, redundancy analysis, and predictive maintenance methodologies.

How we counted: 425 open Reliability Engineering (Reliability Engineering) roles from 71 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 18 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Process, Fab & Equipment family row.
