This role focuses on Superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SNSPD) for photonic quantum computers.
About the role
This Senior R&D Engineer role involves large-scale analysis of Superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SNSPD) data and film metrology to improve SNSPD devices and materials.
What you'll do
- Analyze large-scale SNSPD data with a deep understanding of SNSPD physics.
- Apply microscopic theories of superconductivity and phenomenological models to device data.
- Design experiments informed by microscopic superconductivity theory.
- Deploy future material design and device design tape-outs for scalable, high performance, and high temperature SNSPD operation.
- Interact closely with material science, fabrication, testing, and layout teams to deploy SNSPDs at scale.
What you'll need
- 5+ years experience in the design and development of SNSPDs, or in adjacent areas.
- Experience in microscopic theory of superconductivity or condensed matter physics.
- Experience in superconducting device design.
Skills: SNSPD, superconducting nanowire, single photon detectors, photonic quantum computers, silicon photonics, superconductivity
