Design CLI, web, IDE, and agent-native interfaces for chip design and functional verification workflows.
About the role
As a Senior Product Design Engineer at ChipAgents, you will own and drive the product experience across CLI, web, IDE, desktop, and other agent-native interfaces. The work centers on translating chip design, RTL development, and functional verification workflows into coherent technical software interactions.
What you'll do
- Own the product experience across CLI, web, IDE, desktop, and agent-native interfaces. - Translate complex chip design and verification workflows into clear, efficient product experiences. - Define how users interact with AI agents, including task creation, progress, review, approval, interruption, recovery, and failure handling. - Work directly with customers and domain experts to understand workflows and identify the core problems to solve. - Develop prototypes and production interfaces using code to explore and validate interaction models. - Review and influence product work across the engineering team to maintain technical and design quality.
What you'll need
- Strong experience building and shipping user-facing software. - Frontend or product engineering skills with the ability to build prototypes and production interfaces. - Demonstrated product judgment, interaction design skills, and information architecture expertise. - Ability to reason through complete workflows, including edge cases and failure states. - Experience working directly with users to translate technical needs into product decisions.
Nice to have
- Experience building AI-native products, agents, copilots, or systems with probabilistic behavior. - Experience with developer tools, command-line products, IDE integrations, or technical enterprise software. - Familiarity with semiconductor design, verification, EDA tooling, or hardware engineering workflows. - Experience designing products across multiple interfaces rather than a single web application.

How we counted: 66 open EDA/CAD Engineering (AI EDA Design) roles from 23 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 26 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Physical Implementation family row.
