About the role
This role involves the development of optoelectronic components for advanced Co-Packaged Optics and Optical Engine products.
What you'll do
- Model and design silicon photonics based laser with III-V gain materials, including InP Quantum Well (QW) and GaAs Quantum Dot (QD).
- Characterize laser gain material parameters and optimize device performance with III-V gain material teams.
- Define laser parameters, simulate laser performance, and develop silicon photonics laser processing procedures with silicon photonics design teams.
- Collaborate with foundries and process teams on III_V integration onto silicon, laser fabrication, testing, problem solving, and performance optimization.
- Manage CPO/NPO products through the R&D NPI Phase Gate process and deliver qualified products to global Operations.
- Generate development schedules with Product Line Management and R&D Management to achieve key project milestones and NPI deliverables.
What you'll need
- MS/PhD in an engineering or science discipline plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with semiconductor laser design and silicon photonics.
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or Product Lifecycle Management processes.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams successfully.
- Previous experience as an engineer in laser and silicon photonics R&D.
