About the role
Lumilens is seeking an Analog / RF / Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer to deliver SerDes circuits for optical links in advanced CMOS nodes. The role involves ownership of analog mixed-signal building blocks from architectural definition through silicon validation.
What you'll do
- Architect and design high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits, including SerDes transmit/receive circuits, clocking circuits (PLLs, DLLs, CDRs), transmit drivers, TIAs, receiver front-ends, equalization circuits (CTLE, FFE, DFE), and biasing networks. - Perform transistor-level design, simulation, and optimization across PVT corners for bandwidth, noise, linearity, jitter, stability, and power. - Collaborate with layout engineers on floorplanning, matching, isolation, and parasitic management. - Define and support silicon bring-up, characterization, debug, and correlation to simulations. - Contribute to design methodology, IP reuse, and best practices across programs.
What you'll need
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field. - 7+ years of hands-on analog or mixed-signal IC design experience. - Technical background in feedback and stability analysis, noise and jitter modeling, high-speed analog, SerDes, or mm-wave circuit design, and power integrity and substrate isolation. - Experience taking Driver, TIA, or other data-path AMS blocks through tape-out and lab validation. - Proficiency with industry-standard analog design and simulation tools.
Nice to have
- Experience with advanced/scaled CMOS process nodes. - High-speed SerDes experience (112G/224G/448G PAM4 and/or NRZ) or closely related I/O-adjacent analog circuits. - Experience with process scaling and technology trade-offs. - Exposure to co-packaged optics (CPO), on-board optics, or pluggable optical module integration. - Exposure to silicon debug, failure analysis, and yield learning.
