This role involves the mechanical design of electronic hardware and integrated modules and subsystems for radar, communications, avionics, and defense electronics. The position is within the Aerospace and Defense Module Product Line.
What you'll do
- Lead mechanical design of electronic hardware incorporating RF modules, control electronics, power systems, cabling, and cooling.
- Apply Systems Engineering principles for requirements analysis and trade-studies on platform designs for industrial markets.
- Develop and integrate cooling solutions, including liquid cooling analysis through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) with Ansys Fluent.
- Design innovative mechanical packaging solutions for surface mount technology (SMT) and complex multi-chip-module (MCM) assemblies.
- Perform system level structural analysis for reliable operation over wide environmental conditions.
- Prepare and collaborate on design and fabrication documentation for SMT, printed wiring assemblies (PWAs), and mechanical assemblies.
What you'll need
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in an engineering role.
- Experience leading complex programs or major hardware development.
- Experienced user of SolidWorks and Ansys Mechanical.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
Nice to have
- 10+ years of experience in a design engineering role.
- Experienced user of Ansys Fluent or equivalent full CFD solder.
