About the role
This role involves developing and productizing NVIDIA’s autonomous driving solutions with a focus on perception modules. The work includes traffic signal understanding, encompassing traffic lights, traffic signs, road markings, and construction objects.
What you'll do
- Design end-to-end solutions for Perception and AV stack to enable traffic signal detections.
- Conduct applied research and development of deep learning models for traffic light detection, traffic sign recognition, road marking detection, construction object detection, and text recognition.
- Develop generalizable approaches to support diverse ODDs and Country/region expansion.
- Drive data-driven development by collaborating with data collection and labeling teams.
- Leverage data simulation and augmentation for solving extreme scenarios.
- Productize developed perception solutions by meeting safety, latency, and software robustness requirements.
What you'll need
- PhD with 4+ years, MS with 6+ years, or BS (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on work experience in developing deep learning and algorithms to solve real-world problems.
- Proficiency in using deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch).
- Experience in data-driven development and collaboration with data and ground truth teams.
- Strong programming skills in python and/or C++.

How we counted: 516 open AI/ML Hardware Engineering (AI ML Hardware) roles from 76 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 21 Sept 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Software, Firmware & Systems family row.
