About the role

This role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining complex infrastructure, automating workflows, and mentoring junior staff while ensuring high availability, security, and performance of systems.

What you'll do

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu, and Rocky Linux distributions.
  • Deploy and manage virtualization platforms including KVM, XEN, and VMWare.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks using Ansible and Terraform.
  • Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker, and administer Kubernetes or OpenShift clusters.
  • Support HPC cluster environments by managing job scheduling systems (Slurm, LSF) and optimizing parallel file systems (Lustre, GPFS).
  • Implement security practices including patch management, vulnerability assessments, access controls, and compliance auditing.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Linux system administration with RHEL, Ubuntu, and Rocky Linux environments.
  • Proven experience managing virtualization technologies including KVM, XEN, and VMWare.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with enterprise storage solutions such as SAN, NAS, and distributed storage platforms like Ceph.
  • Proficiency in automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Experience with container technologies including Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python for automation and system integration tasks.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with HPC cluster management, job schedulers (Slurm, LSF), and parallel file systems (Lustre, GPFS).
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent Linux certification.
  • Certifications in virtualization (e.g., VMware Certified Professional) and container orchestration (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
