About the role
This role provides legal support across corporate and commercial transactions for a global business in China, with specialized focus on intellectual property, data governance, cybersecurity, and privacy.
What you'll do
- Negotiate, draft, and manage commercial contracts, including supply agreements, technology licensing, service agreements, and strategic partnerships.
- Provide day-to-day legal counsel on general corporate matters for business operations and strategic projects in China.
- Support intellectual property protection, data governance, cybersecurity, and privacy compliance matters.
- Develop working knowledge of China's regulatory landscape, including PIPL, DSL, and CSL, and translate headquarters' policies into local guidance.
- Design, implement, and monitor compliance programs to mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
- Collaborate with the worldwide Legal & Compliance team and manage relationships with external legal advisors.
What you'll need
- Law degree from a university.
- Qualified to practice law in China.
- Minimum of 12 years of legal experience, including global law firm and in-house at a multinational corporation.
- Strong track record in commercial transactions and general corporate work.
- Exposure to IP, data privacy, or cybersecurity matters.
- Deep transactional and regulatory experience in China.
- Fluent in English with legal drafting and negotiation skills.

- Admission to an international bar.
