About the role

PsiQuantum is seeking a Senior Integrated Photonics Engineer – Active Devices and Circuits to develop active components and circuits for fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures. The role independently owns photonic integration across Foundry Engineering and Test and Measurement teams to ensure testing and rapid analysis of high-volume photonic device data.

What you'll do

- Plan and validate high-volume tests with Foundry and Test teams. - Analyze measurement data and interpret analysis results to evaluate and improve photonic components and circuits. - Develop new test methods for active photonic components and build automated analysis methods to improve data analysis infrastructure. - Contribute to photonic tapeouts, including the design and simulation of integrated photonic devices, hands-on layout, DOE design, and technical interfacing with packaging and electronic driver designers.

What you'll need

- PhD with exposure to integrated photonics and electro-optic devices, plus 3+ years of industry experience in integrated photonics. - Deep expertise in integrated photonic devices, covering passive and active components with a focus on electro-optic phase shifters and modulators. - Experience coordinating wafer-level tests and cross-functional data analysis. - Experience in the design and modeling of photonic and electro-optic components using tools such as Ansys Lumerical, Tidy3D, COMSOL Multiphysics, or Meep. - Knowledge of modeling photonic circuits using tools such as Lumerical Interconnect or SAX. - Experience with photonic tapeouts and script-based layout tools such as GDSFactory or Kfactory, along with design for test (DFT) methodology. - Hands-on expertise in the characterization of integrated passive and active photonic components, high-speed techniques (S-parameters, Vpi measurements), and RF/photonic test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, VNAs, and high-speed probes. - Proficiency in programming with Python for data analysis and visualization.
