About the role
As a Senior HPC Software & Systems Architect in the Measurement, Analytics and Control (MACH) division, you will design and architect high-performance computing platforms supporting semiconductor manufacturing, AI workloads, computational lithography, metrology, inspection, and large-scale distributed data processing environments. You will lead architectural decisions spanning software, hardware, networking, storage, GPU acceleration, virtualization, and cloud-integrated HPC infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Define architecture for enterprise-scale HPC clusters, compute, network, storage, virtualization strategies, and platform scalability from tens to thousands of cores. - Design distributed software services, APIs, automation frameworks, configuration management architecture, and observability solutions supporting HPC infrastructure. - Establish standards for GPU acceleration, workload orchestration, distributed computing, performance entitlement targets, and capacity planning. - Lead the adoption of CI/CD, testing, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps methodologies across Linux, container, and cloud-native platforms. - Define the HPC platform roadmap by evaluating emerging technologies in GPU computing, AI infrastructure, parallel storage architectures, and high-speed networking. - Provide technical leadership across software, systems, manufacturing, operations, and field organizations while conducting architecture and design reviews.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 12-15 years of related experience, Master's degree with 8+ years of experience, or a Doctorate with 5+ years of experience. - Expert Linux administration and engineering knowledge across distributions including RHEL, Rocky, AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, or SUSE. - Deep expertise in HPC technologies including SLURM, SGE, Kubernetes, distributed computing architectures, NUMA optimization, MPI concepts, and GPU workload scheduling. - Hands-on experience with hardware infrastructure including NVIDIA GPU ecosystems, high-speed Ethernet, RDMA, NVMe storage, parallel file systems, and NAS/NFS architectures. - Experience with virtualization and container technologies such as VMware, Proxmox, and KVM. - Proficiency in software development and automation using Python, C++, Bash, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, and infrastructure automation frameworks. - Demonstrated background in system architecture covering service-oriented design, scalability engineering, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance benchmarking.
