About the role
TSMC Arizona is looking for a Senior Fire Protection Design Engineer to join the New FAB Design Department at the 4-nanometer fab in Phoenix, Arizona. The role is responsible for designing code-compliant life safety systems, including fire alarm, fire suppression, emergency responder radio coverage, firefighter air replenishment, and gas detection.
What you'll do
- Define design parameters for life safety systems based on TSMC Operations and Manufacturing requirements, code requirements, and industry best practices. - Support engineering design, analysis, calculations, and specifications for facility infrastructure fire and life safety systems. - Respond to requests for information during the bidding, design, and construction process. - Document technical decisions and key data during meetings and construction sequencing. - Review conceptual designs and construction documents to ensure compliance with code requirements and TSMC standards. - Perform periodic inspections of construction progress to ensure compliance with permitted designs.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in fire protection, electrical, or mechanical engineering or related engineering field. - A minimum of five years of technical experience in the pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or similar high-tech industry. - Working knowledge of IBC, IFC, NFPA 13, and NFPA 72. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with work management systems. - Ability to walk for extended periods of time in a cleanroom suit.

- Familiarity with City of Phoenix amendments.
