About the role
This role involves the implementation, development, and continual process improvement surrounding the production of GaAs/InP-based optoelectronic devices by MOCVD methods. You will focus on sustaining engineering, statistical process control, and characterization analysis to support R&D and 24/7 manufacturing operations.
What you'll do
- Carry out sustaining production engineering, including evaluation of epi characterization and applying data to production recipe adjustments to maintain high yield. - Support production growth, analyze characterization data, and implement process control functionality for high-volume manufacturing operations. - Utilize characterization techniques including SIMS, HRXRD, ECV, photoluminescence, Surfscan, and microscope inspection to evaluate epitaxial growth results. - Apply statistical process control (SPC) software such as JMP to analyze process stability and manufacturing data. - Ensure full communication and process compliance in support of on-shift technical and operations personnel across office, laboratory, and cleanroom fab environments.
What you'll need
- M.S. in Ch.E., M.E., Physics, E.E., or related fields, or equivalent experience. - Experience with standard epitaxial characterization tools such as XRD, ECV, PL, and reflectance. - Familiarity with SPC, Gage, DOE, and manufacturing data analysis methodologies. - Ability to work in cleanroom fab environments adhering to full gowning and safety requirements.
Nice to have
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with MOCVD crystal growth of GaAs/InP-based materials and/or compound semiconductor processing. - Experience using JMP for statistical analysis.
