About the role
This role involves qualifying enterprise SSDs in customer systems, focusing on the host interface firmware layer which drives Samsung’s V-NAND technology for hyper-scale data centers, big data processing, and virtualized storage arrays.
What you'll do
- Execute enterprise SSD qualifications in customer systems.
- Triage test failures and perform first-level fault analysis.
- Design and execute experiments to root cause defects and verify fixes.
- Provide feedback to functional test teams on issues seen in customer qualifications.
- Contribute to triaging customer field issues and provide support for timely resolution.
- Identify automation opportunities and assist the Automation team in improving the existing framework.
What you'll need
- BS in Computer Science or related technical field with 5+ years of system level testing or development of enterprise servers and enterprise storage systems experience, or MS with 3+ years.
- Experience with at least 1 storage protocol like NVMe/PCIe, SAS, SATA, or Fibre Channel.
- Familiarity with protocol analyzers like LeCroy, SerialTek, or Xgig System.
- Proficiency in server operating systems, especially system debug tools such as system logs.
- Knowledge of enterprise storage/server system technologies.
- Expertise in storage test tools such as performance benchmarks, IO stress tools, protocol certifications, Test execution, and bug management tools.
- Scripting experience in Perl, Shell, or Python.
