About the role

This role involves ensuring software stability on Qualcomm SoCs and spans the product lifecycle from pre-silicon validation to commercialization.

What you'll do

  • Investigate and resolve system/software stability issues in multi-processor, Linux/multi-RTOS environments.
  • Analyze timing issues in RTOS and Linux applications and contribute to performance optimization.
  • Apply tools including JTAG, ETM, Trace32, and GDB for low-level debugging.
  • Perform code inspection, instrumentation, and log analysis to identify root causes.
  • Participate in chip bring-up, stability scrums, and feature design discussions.
  • Contribute to improvements in debug processes through automation scripts and documentation.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience; OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience; OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years of academic or work experience with C, C++, or Python.
  • Strong Linux fundamentals and embedded systems knowledge.
  • Awareness of debugging tools (Trace32, GDB) and hardware/software interaction.
  • Solid understanding of Linux internals (kernel, device drivers, memory management) and RTOS fundamentals (scheduling, synchronization).

Nice to have

  • 1–4 years in semiconductor or embedded systems domain.
  • Familiarity with Assembly.
  • Familiarity with ARM/Cortex/Hexagon architectures and bus systems (AHB, NoC).
  • Exposure to scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell) for automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux device drivers, kernel modules, or system-level debugging.
