Digital Design & SoC Architecture
Design electronics for laser diode drivers, current sources, and FPGA-based precision control systems.
About the role
This position provides electrical engineering expertise in laser-control electronics, FPGA and firmware development, system monitoring, precision control, and hardware troubleshooting for laser systems. You will collaborate with laser, optical, mechanical, and software engineers to develop, integrate, and validate prototypes of novel laser platforms.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and improve electronics for laser diode drivers, current sources, temperature-control systems, photodetector monitoring, safety interlocks, and system diagnostics.
- Develop and optimize precision control loops for optical power, temperature, wavelength, current, and other critical laser parameters.
- Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance FPGA-based control, timing, synchronization, signal-processing, and diagnostic functions.
- Troubleshoot electrical noise, stability, grounding, EMI/EMC, and reliability issues across laser platforms.
- Design controller boards, interface boards, sensor electronics, and power supplies, supporting integration and testing with optical and laser subsystems.
What you'll need
- 10 years of work experience in the field.
- Demonstrated experience in FPGA development and high speed digital design.
- Proven experience in analog design, including designing electronics for laser diode drivers, current sources, and power supplies.
- Background in laser control and embedded control systems.
Skills: FPGA, laser control, board design, current sources, analog design
