About the role
As Senior Director, Engineering - Advanced Deposition Systems, you will lead the multi-disciplinary engineering organization responsible for translating customer demand, product strategy, and manufacturing requirements into reliable, production-ready semiconductor equipment. The scope focuses on scaling the ion beam deposition platform used in optical infrastructure for artificial intelligence data centers.
What you'll do
- Set the engineering execution strategy for the ion beam deposition platform and align resources with product roadmap priorities and manufacturing growth objectives. - Lead Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, and Software Engineering organizations through requirements, architecture, design, validation, production release, and field support. - Deliver multiple concurrent development and customer programs meeting schedule, quality, cost, reliability, and performance commitments. - Establish engineering operating mechanisms, metrics, and governance processes to improve predictability, accountability, and execution speed. - Drive system-level decisions balancing technical performance, manufacturability, serviceability, cost, and product reliability across hardware, controls, and software interfaces. - Partner with Operations, Product Management, Technology, Supply Chain, and Customer Support to manage transitions from concept through production and field deployment.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline. - 15+ years of engineering experience developing complex capital equipment, semiconductor equipment, vacuum systems, photonics equipment, or other highly engineered products. - 7+ years of leadership experience managing engineering managers or multi-disciplinary engineering organizations. - Experience with semiconductor processing equipment, vacuum systems, thin-film deposition technologies, ion beam technologies, photonics manufacturing equipment, or optical coating systems. - Demonstrated background in design for manufacturability, engineering change management, configuration control, and production transfer processes. - Proven experience managing engineering organizations with responsibility for budget, staffing, execution, and product qualification through customer deployment.
