About the role
The Senior Director of EDA & HPC Engineering Platforms leads the vision, architecture, and global operations of compute, data, and development infrastructure supporting silicon and systems engineering. This leadership portfolio spans HPC grids and scheduling, EDA license orchestration, source code management, Linux platforms, analytics, and engineering IP protection across on-premises data centers and hybrid cloud.
What you'll do
- Define and execute the multi-year strategy, target-state architecture, and capacity investments for EDA and HPC platforms across global data centers and hybrid cloud environments. - Direct multi-scheduler operations across IBM LSF, Altair PBS Pro/Accelerator, and Slurm, managing queue structures, fairshare policies, resource guardrails, and migration programs. - Oversee EDA license management and license-aware scheduling across vendors including Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens EDA, and Ansys using FlexLM/FlexNet and RLM. - Manage enterprise source code management (SCM) and design data infrastructure across Git, Perforce Helix Core, Dassault DesignSync, and legacy systems such as IBM ClearCase and Subversion. - Guide the enterprise Linux/Unix engineering platform, infrastructure-as-code automation (Ansible, Terraform), container platforms (Apptainer/Singularity, Docker, Kubernetes), and high-performance storage integration. - Oversee telemetry, observability (Prometheus, Grafana), and platform data engineering pipelines to track utilization, license efficiency, and capacity forecasting.
What you'll need
- 10+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree (or 12+ years without a Bachelor's degree). - 7+ years of supervisory or leadership experience, including leading multi-level teams. - 3+ years of experience collaborating directly with senior leadership at the VP level and above. - Operational mastery of compute grid scheduler design, with IBM LSF required. - Working experience with EDA license management using FlexNet/FlexLM or RLM and license-aware scheduling. - Experience managing enterprise SCM systems including Git/GitHub, Perforce Helix Core, or Dassault DesignSync. - Experience with enterprise Linux/Unix systems engineering, configuration management, and container environments.
Nice to have
- Experience leading hybrid or cloud HPC execution for EDA workloads on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including FinOps governance. - Experience with high-performance storage architectures such as NetApp, Weka, IBM Storage Scale/GPFS, Lustre, or VAST. - Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tooling including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Artifactory. - Experience with Altair PBS Pro/Accelerator and Slurm schedulers.
