About the role

The Senior Director of Business Operations and New Product Introduction (NPI) brings SambaNova's silicon and systems to market through a growing ecosystem of partners, reporting directly to the Chief Corporate Development Officer. The role establishes repeatable execution playbooks spanning prototypes, volume shipments, and lifecycle support for Reconfigurable Dataflow Unit (RDU) and SambaRack deployments.

What you'll do

  • Define and drive the end-to-end NPI flow for partner and OEM engagements, spanning architecture, reference design, EVT/DVT/PVT validation, manufacturing readiness, and mass production.
  • Establish phase-gate criteria, owners, templates, checklists, metrics, and executive dashboards for concurrent partner programs.
  • Coordinate technical project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and trade-offs across silicon, hardware, rack, thermal, firmware, software, and supply chain teams.
  • Translate partner requirements—including architecture, BOM, power, cooling, form factor, test, and qualification—into actionable engineering decisions.
  • Partner with executive leadership, finance, and legal to structure commercial terms, deliverables, milestones, NCNR commitments, MOQs, and support obligations across customer agreements.
  • Define support models, QA, RMA, and failure analysis workflows for OEM and partner ecosystems.

What you'll need

  • Experience leading end-to-end hardware and silicon NPI flows through EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production phases.
  • Demonstrated background managing complex technical programs across silicon, hardware, thermal, firmware, software, and supply chain organizations.
  • Experience delivering hardware programs in partnership with OEMs, ODMs, hyperscalers, or enterprise server infrastructure providers.
  • Working knowledge of hardware commercial lifecycles, contract terms (MOQs, NCNR commitments, lead times), and supply agreements.
  • Technical understanding of data center system requirements, including architecture, BOM, power, cooling, and form factors.
