About the role
PsiQuantum is looking for a digital-hardware system-designer to join the System-Architecture team. You will define and shape the digital-logic systems that drive the data-plane of a photonic quantum computer.
What you'll do
- Gather and translate high-level abstract requirements into concrete hardware requirements. - Devise and implement low-latency algorithms and methods for time-critical data-plane tasks. - Implement cycle-accurate Python models to be integrated into discrete-time-event simulations, along with behavioral tests. - Deliver SystemVerilog implementations matching Python models and integrate algorithms into FPGAs. - Collaborate with physicists and digital designers to optimize designs for algorithmic performance, latency, throughput, and footprint constraints. - Write technical requirements and documentation.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related discipline. - 5+ years of relevant work in digital design. - Knowledge of SystemVerilog (or VHDL) for design and simulation. - Experience working with FPGAs and associated tooling. - Python programming experience for hardware modeling and tests.
Nice to have
- Distributed system experience involving event correlation from multiple sources under real-time constraints. - Experience with High Level Synthesis tools (such as Xilinx Vitis). - Experience with Python for verification using Cocotb. - Knowledge of photonics and linear optics. - Experience with Xilinx FPGAs.
