About the role
As a Senior Circuit Design Engineer at NVIDIA, you will participate in processor design in deep submicron technologies. The role focuses on designing circuits for hardware security, adaptive clocking, and power management solutions.
What you'll do
- Drive the design and physical implementation of custom digital IPs from RTL to layout using industry standard tools and custom design flows. - Perform transistor-level circuit design, schematic entry, and layout delivery. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve power, performance, area, and reliability through custom circuit solutions and transistor-level analysis. - Run Spice simulations, EM/IR analysis, and static timing analysis/closure. - Develop prototypes of patentable ideas on test chips and drive deployment across products. - Integrate AI/ML techniques directly into the circuit design process and methodology, and mentor junior team members.
What you'll need
- BSEE or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience. - 3+ years of digital circuit design experience with a Master's degree, or 5+ years with a Bachelor's degree. - Understanding of deep submicron process issues and digital circuit design techniques. - Hands-on experience running Spice simulations, EM/IR analysis, and static timing analysis/closure. - Experience working with layout (DRC, LVS) and/or PnR tools.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience in the design and analysis of low power circuits (power gating, decaps, multi-vt). - Experience with RTL, logic synthesis, and verification. - Mixed signal circuit design experience. - Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl, Make, and automation methods/algorithms. - Hands-on experience across the entire silicon design flow including Custom/Semi-Custom Circuit Design, Synthesis, Auto Place and Route, STA, and PVerf. - Experience with post-silicon characterization, debug, and delivering features through tape-out and validation.

How we counted: 1045 open Digital/RTL Design (RTL Design) roles from 103 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 20 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Digital Design & Verification family row.
