About the role
As a Senior Board Test Engineer, you will develop and scale manufacturing test solutions for board and system-level products supporting Arm-based compute platforms. You will combine hardware and software expertise to improve test coverage, automate testing, and support new products moving into production.
What you'll do
- Define manufacturing test solutions, methodologies, and processes for board and system-level products.
- Develop test strategies for new features, including specifying, designing, and qualifying test fixtures, equipment, and diagnostic software.
- Develop and support automated test content using Python, contributing to diagnostic generation, validation, and test infrastructure.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, quality, and manufacturing teams to improve CPU, system-on-chip, board, and system-level test coverage.
- Debug hardware and software issues during product bring-up and manufacturing, partnering with manufacturing vendors to resolve production issues and support product ramp-up.
- Analyze test and manufacturing data to identify recurring issues, improve yield, and support continuous improvement.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in board, system, platform, or manufacturing test, including developing or supporting manufacturing test programmes and working with board or system hardware.
- Programming or scripting experience with Python and Bash, with the ability to debug hardware and software interactions in complex systems.
- Knowledge of technologies including PCIe, baseboard management controllers, IPMI, thermal management, and system interfaces.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting new product introduction and the transition into high-volume manufacturing.
- Experience with manufacturing test automation, diagnostic development, or automated failure analysis.
- Knowledge of design for test, design for manufacturing, yield improvement, and manufacturing quality methods.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers or global manufacturing partners.
- Experience analysing manufacturing and test data to identify trends and support corrective actions.
