About the role

This Winter/Spring Co-Op position supports the semiconductor process engineering team in developing an AI tool for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with semiconductor process engineers to understand troubleshooting workflows, failure modes, and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Design, develop, and implement AI/ML-based tools for process monitoring, troubleshooting, and defect investigation.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze large manufacturing datasets from process equipment, metrology systems, and production databases.
  • Develop data pipelines and AI models that identify patterns, anomalies, and potential root causes of process deviations.
  • Create user interfaces and dashboards that enable engineers to interact with AI-generated recommendations and insights.
  • Validate AI model performance through real-world engineering use cases and continuous feedback from process engineers.

What you'll need

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Coursework or project experience involving artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, software development, or semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Understanding of data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of SQL and working with large datasets.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to semiconductor manufacturing processes, yield engineering, process engineering, or failure analysis.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), or root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms such as Power BI.
