About the role
The Security Specialist installs, maintains, and repairs physical security systems, including alarms, surveillance cameras, and access control devices across facilities.
What you'll do
- Install, maintain, and repair security systems, including alarms, surveillance cameras, and access control devices. - Conduct site surveys to determine optimal placement of system components, and configure system hardware and software according to department needs. - Test, adjust, and evaluate system components to ensure proper operation and recommend upgrades or modifications. - Install and maintain low voltage wiring, electronic locks, card readers, CCTV cameras, and related equipment. - Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, wiring, and software issues, responding to emergency service calls for immediate repairs. - Document all installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of security or related work experience, or an Associate's degree and 3+ years of security or related work experience, or a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 5+ years of security or related work experience. - Verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information. - Experience referencing directions and technical manuals to perform procedures.
Nice to have
- Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, and related systems. - Proficiency with low voltage electrical systems and wiring. - Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. - Familiarity with network infrastructure as it relates to security systems. - Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.
