About the role
This Co-op role contributes to the advancement of 5G front-end RFICs. The co-op will work with the Irvine team on various advanced design projects.
What you'll do
- Understand and review front end specifications to derive block level specs
- Develop schematics of switches and LNAs with test benches in Cadence
- Develop test chips to measure active and passive test circuits
- Perform top level functional simulations to verify and debug die functionality
- Design Switch circuits and LNA circuits with senior designers' help
- Prepare relevant documents and present final design reviews
What you'll need
- MS candidate with fundamental RFIC/Analog coursework and labs
- Understanding of large signal and small signal device models
- Knowledge of various semiconductor processes: SOI, bulk CMOS, SiGe
- Experience with modeling of passive components
- Proficiency in Cadence, spectre RF, layout, EMX, HFSS
- Understanding of microwave theory
- System level understanding of NF, Sparameters, linearity
- Ability to work onsite in Irvine office January - May/June 2027
Nice to have
- PHD candidates with experience of multiple RFIC tape outs and measurement experience
