About the role
This role is for an RFIC Design Co-op to join the Irvine design team developing high-performance RFIC solutions for mobile applications. You will contribute to the realization of RF Front-End integrated circuits used in mobile phones.
What you'll do
- Design and develop RFIC for Multi-chip modules, specifically RF switches and couplers.
- Run simulations using design tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and SPICE.
- Tune RF front-end modules in the lab.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design or technical issues.
- Evaluate RF parameters including IL, Isolation, Harmonics, IMDs/IP3, and Pmax.
- Create probe spec documents to improve product screening and compliance matrices.
What you'll need
- Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) MS or PhD program.
- Commitment to work onsite for 6 months (January - June 2027).
- Strong career interest in RF/microwave engineering and RFIC design.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Nice to have
- Simulation Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, ADS, SPICE.
- Layout Experience with Cadence Virtuoso.
- EM Simulation Experience with EMX or HFSS.
- Hands-on experience in the lab using a network analyzer and other RF instruments.
