About the role
This role involves leading the development and optimization of RF automation testing systems for Apple's cellular products.
What you'll do
- Lead the development and optimization of RF automation testing systems.
- Drive system architecture decisions.
- Mentor other engineers while remaining hands-on with RF problems.
- Drive engineering rigor, creativity, and innovation across multiple product lines.
- Define solutions in ambiguous problem spaces.
What you'll need
- Demonstrated depth in RF fundamentals and communications theory.
- 5+ years hands-on experience with RF lab equipment, including specifying or architecting test setups.
- 6+ years professional experience in C/C++ system-level software development, including designing and shipping non-trivial systems.
- Proven experience designing or leading development of RF test automation systems or frameworks, end-to-end.
- Working proficiency with data processing/statistical analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB) applied to RF/test data at scale.
- Experience operating with significant autonomy on ambiguous, cross-functional technical problems.
Nice to have
- Deep experience with current/emerging Cellular standards (LTE, 5G NR).
- Track record designing and shipping RF test solutions/systems from scratch.
- Experience mentoring or leading small technical efforts.
- Experience using agentic workflows for software development and data processing.
- 6+ years of relevant industry experience in RF engineering, test systems, or wireless communications.
