About the role
Apple is seeking an RF Passive Design Engineer to design on-chip RF and analog/mixed-signal passives used in Apple mobile devices. You will handle the process from electrical and physical design through tape-out, collaborating across RF, packaging, CAD, and process engineering teams.
What you'll do
- Execute the electrical and physical design of electromagnetic (EM) and microwave components and circuits.
- Design on-chip inductors, transformers, capacitors, and transmission lines.
- Design on-chip filters, phase shifters, and couplers.
- Work with RF, packaging, CAD, and process engineering teams to architect and develop RF on-chip passives.
- Manage and coordinate the flow from initial design through tape-out.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of electromagnetic theory, microwave engineering, and antenna engineering.
- Proficiency with EM passive designs and familiarity with EM simulation tools such as HFSS, EMX, or Momentum, including on-chip EM modeling experience.
- Familiarity with on-wafer measurement and hands-on experience using VNA, TDR, and LCR meters.
- Industry-related work experience beyond graduate school studies.
