Design and test RF power delivery systems from 100 kHz to 100 MHz at watt to kilowatt scales for etch and deposition systems.

About the role

The RF Electrical Engineer designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic parts, components, and integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, hardware systems, and electrical engineering applications in Lam's etch and deposition products. The role is primarily focused on RF power delivery systems ranging from 100 kHz to 100 MHz at power levels from watts to kilowatts.

What you'll do

- Design, select, test, and document RF power delivery systems spanning 100 kHz to 100 MHz and watts to kilowatts. - Perform electrical engineering research, design, development, modification, and evaluation supporting electrical and electro-mechanical systems and subsystems. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including electrical, mechanical, software, process, and technical support engineers, as well as suppliers—on custom and OEM embedded system components. - Prepare and analyze test plans and procedures to demonstrate compliance with technical and operational requirements. - Collect and analyze pertinent data and materials, presenting findings at design, project, and program reviews.

What you'll need

- Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of related experience, Master’s degree with 12+ years, PhD with 8+ years, or equivalent experience. - Hands-on experience with complex RF measurement equipment, including power meters and network, impedance, and spectrum analyzers. - Familiarity with high-voltage (>1 kV) design rules and practices from DC to 100 MHz. - Proficiency with AI tools. - Proven troubleshooting and analytical skills for electronic parts, components, and integrated circuitry.

Nice to have

- Experience with PYTHON, MathCAD or MATLAB, SPICE, and electromagnetic modeling and analysis tools (e.g., HFSS, COMSOL, CST Microwave Studio). - Experience in, or fundamental knowledge of, plasma processing, plasma sources, and plasma loads.

Skills: RF power delivery, plasma processing, impedance matching, HFSS, high-voltage
