About the role
This co-op role involves working on the development of wireless solutions and future commercial RF front-end products. You will contribute to technology research, simulation, and prototype development supporting 5G/6G and emerging connectivity technologies.
What you'll do
- Research and evaluate advanced RF front-end architectures, including filter and RFIC co-design approaches.
- Develop and analyze RF matching networks, filter structures, and passive component designs.
- Build and analyze 2.5D and 3D electromagnetic models of RF passive structures.
- Perform electromagnetic simulations using tools such as HFSS and EMX.
- Run circuit and system-level simulations with extracted S-parameters.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Academic emphasis in RF/Microwave Engineering, Electromagnetics, Analog/RF IC Design, or Applied Physics.
- Strong understanding of RF and microwave circuit design.
- Strong understanding of Electromagnetic theory.
- Strong understanding of Analog and RF integrated circuits.
- Strong understanding of S-parameters and impedance matching.
- Strong understanding of RF front-end architectures.
- Experience with one or more of the following: Keysight ADS, Ansys HFSS, EMX, Cadence Virtuoso, or equivalent RF/EM simulation platforms.
Nice to have
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, or other automation/data analysis tools.
- Experience with AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, Copilot.
- Knowledge of filter design and synthesis techniques, including SAW/BAW acoustic filters, LC filters, cavity filters, or coupling matrix filter synthesis flow.
- Familiarity with VNA calibration, de-embedding techniques, and measurement correlation.
