Keysight is hiring a Reliability Engineer to work with advanced compound semiconductor ICs and high-performance interconnect technologies.

About the role

As a Reliability Engineer - Compound Semiconductor Device, you will work hands-on with advanced compound semiconductor ICs and high-performance interconnect technologies. This role involves ensuring that technologies meet performance, quality, and lifetime expectations for Keysight's products.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and execute reliability qualification strategies for advanced compound semiconductor integrated circuits, including high-frequency FETs, bipolar transistors, diodes, and passive components.
  • Evaluate emerging semiconductor device technologies, ensuring they meet stringent reliability requirements of high-performance Test & Measurement applications.
  • Investigate transistor- and diode-level degradation mechanisms, develop acceleration methodologies, and establish qualification plans to assess long-term device reliability.
  • Apply advanced statistical and data analysis techniques to identify reliability risks, understand failure mechanisms, and guide technology development decisions.
  • Build and expand device reliability characterization infrastructure, enabling rapid assessment of new technologies while supporting future growth in capability and test capacity.
  • Partner with technology development, product engineering, process integration, and manufacturing teams to translate reliability data into action that drives product success.
  • Communicate results to technical and business stakeholders, influencing technology roadmaps and qualification decisions.

What you'll need

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field (or equivalent industry experience).
  • 8+ years of proven experience in semiconductor device reliability.
  • Strong understanding of transistor and diode operation, including device characteristics, performance tradeoffs, and failure mechanisms.
  • Solid foundation in semiconductor device physics and the principles governing device behavior and reliability.
  • Experience developing or interpreting reliability qualification methodologies for semiconductor devices.
  • Familiarity with electrical characterization and reliability test equipment used for semiconductor devices and circuits.
  • Strong background in probability, statistics, and data analysis.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis and failure mechanism investigation.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of III-V semiconductor technologies including InP, GaAs, or related compound semiconductor platforms.
  • Experience with high-frequency device technologies, including design, fabrication, process integration, characterization, or reliability evaluation.
  • Hands-on experience applying Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies.
