About the role

As a RAS Architect at AMD, you will define and develop system-level reliability, availability, and serviceability capabilities across complex computing systems and scale-out environments. Your work spans server and embedded RAS architectures, fault detection, redundancy, recovery mechanisms, and diagnostics from architecture definition through early customer support.

What you'll do

- Design and develop server and embedded RAS architectures for AMD products deployed in scale-out environments. - Define and analyze reliability, availability, and serviceability requirements aligned with industry standards and customer expectations. - Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) in collaboration with hardware and software teams to identify potential failure points and mitigation strategies. - Develop fault detection, isolation, recovery, redundancy, and error-correction mechanisms. - Define and implement advanced diagnostics, system health monitoring, and predictive maintenance capabilities. - Conduct system-level simulations, analysis, and testing to validate and verify RAS architectures and components.

What you'll need

- Experience with system-level architecture design, reliability engineering, and fault-tolerance mechanisms for complex computing systems, data centers, or mission-critical applications. - Experience with fault-tolerant design principles, redundancy, error correction codes (ECC), and error-recovery mechanisms. - Experience using system-level simulation tools and methodologies, including fault injection, reliability block diagrams, and failure-rate analysis. - Experience programming in C/C++ in Linux environments. - BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with Linux kernel internals and code review. - Experience developing and optimizing RAS architectures.
