Your focus includes mechanical architecture for server and GPU products, rack-level integration, and liquid cooling solutions.
What you'll do
- Define, design, and integrate mechanical systems for server/compute products in collaboration with global teams. - Lead mechanical development across server design, system architecture, rack-level integration, and cooling solutions. - Perform mechanical modeling in Creo, tolerance analysis, and system-level mechanical design. - Contribute to post-silicon development through test planning, characterization, data analysis, and support of customer/reference systems. - Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers while serving as a decision-maker in design reviews. - Drive continuous improvement of mechanical design processes and workflows.
What you'll need
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - Proficiency in Creo for mechanical modeling. - Experience with mechanical modeling, tolerance analysis, and system-level mechanical design for semiconductor products. - Experience contributing to post-silicon development, test planning, characterization, and data analysis. - Background in mechanical design and system integration at the server and datacenter levels.
Nice to have
- Experience in sheet metal design, enclosure and chassis development, fabrication processes, tooling design, and DFM/DFA through high-volume production. - Experience in server and switch development, server infrastructure design, and the integration of silicon into high-performance computing/server environments. - Working knowledge of statistical analysis, structural analysis, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). - Background with thermal management and cooling systems.

How we counted: 992 open Hardware Systems Engineering (AI ML Hardware) roles from 104 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 21 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Software, Firmware & Systems family row.
