About the role
As an R&D Software Engineer, you will join an Agile software team tasked with creating common operating systems for Keysight’s instruments.
What you'll do
- Participate in the full software lifecycle of requirements capture, research and investigation, product definition, design, implementation, test development, testing, and maintenance.
- Create a highly secured Yocto system.
- Design, develop, test, and debug software features, products, and tooling for Linux system libraries and tools.
- Ensure the operating system meets security and software standards and delivers features that expand Keysight’s technical leadership.
- Mentor other engineers, coordinate with internal groups, and resolve complex technical issues.
- Work with other functional areas to understand customer design flow and provide whole-product solutions.
What you'll need
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Software Engineering.
- 3+ years of applicable Software Development experience (with BS) or 1+ year (with MS).
- 3+ years in software development on Linux platforms.
- Demonstrated experience in object-oriented design and C++ programming skills/C++ standards.
- Proficient in compilers (gcc and cross-compilation), debuggers (kgdb, gdb), and performance profilers.
Nice to have
- Development experience with multiple operating systems (Windows or other).
- Knowledge of Yocto and embedded Linux design.
- Kernel or driver development on any system.
- Working knowledge of Python and its family of tools.
