About the role

As an R&D Senior Engineer Software, you will design, develop, and deliver software and firmware for datacenter-scale solutions. You will own all aspects of design across the product lifecycle, including ZephyrOS/OpenBMC firmware, microcode, device drivers, embedded Linux/Yocto builds, and upper-level control software.

What you'll do

- Own software and firmware designs across the lifecycle, including ZephyrOS/OpenBMC firmware, microcode, device drivers, embedded Linux/Yocto builds, and upper-level control software. - Lead early-stage development, executing silicon, chip, board, and full-system bring-up alongside low-level debugging. - Write software for low-level hardware interfaces and buses including I2C, PMBus, AVSbus, MDIO, PCIe, SPI, USB, and SERDES. - Implement security and boot features such as Secure Boot, u-boot, and Secure Root of Trust (RoT). - Implement management and telemetry protocols using Redfish and DMTF standards such as MCTP, PLDM, and SPDM. - Assist with customer trials, address field issues, and drive system-level validation and automation.

What you'll need

- Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of related experience. - Background developing software in C++/C for multi-processor architectures (x86, ARM), spanning low-level firmware to rack management control software. - Experience with Linux/Yocto, OpenBMC, and/or ZephyrOS. - Proven driver development and low-level silicon debugging expertise through silicon, chip, board, and full-system bring-up. - Hands-on experience developing software for I2C, PMBus, AVSbus, MDIO, PCIe, SPI, USB, and SERDES interfaces. - Experience implementing Secure Boot, u-boot, and Secure Root of Trust (RoT), with familiarity in architectures like Calyptra. - Working knowledge of Redfish and DMTF standards including MCTP, PLDM, and SPDM. - Baseline knowledge of datacenter networking, switching, and NIC architectures.
