About the role
This role involves managing new device development projects from concept through transfer to production and defining device technology requirements. You will focus on the development, characterization, optimization, and qualification of III-V optoelectronics devices such as HBTs, HEMTs, VCSEL, and PDs for high-volume applications.
What you'll do
- Manage new device development projects from development through transfer to production.
- Design and simulate epitaxial structures to meet device performance targets.
- Define new unit process requirements and targets, and design/integrate wafer fab process flows.
- Create test structures and layouts to fabricate and characterize new device technologies.
- Perform DC, small signal RF, and optical testing and characterization of devices.
- Create documentation required to transfer designs to manufacturing, including design verification data, corner studies, and test plans.
What you'll need
- M.S. in electrical engineering or a related field with 5 years of relevant job experience.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of III-V semiconductor devices and materials: physics, TCAD simulation, fab process, testing, modeling.
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or Product Lifecycle Management processes.
- Previous experience as an engineer in III-V electronics and RF R&D.
- In-depth understanding of all aspects of III-V electronic device design.
- Familiarity with DC, small signal RF, and optical testing and characterization of devices.
Nice to have
- Ph.D. in Electrical engineering or related field with 2 years of relevant job experience.
- Proven track record in managing new device development projects, from concept to production, with a focus on III-V optoelectronics.
- Understanding of wafer fab design rules and their impact on device performance, with a focus on process integration.
