About the role
This role is for a summer intern in the hardware development group responsible for network visibility platforms.
What you'll do
- Assist with hardware bring-up, validation, and debug activities. - Perform laboratory testing and data collection using standard test equipment. - Review and interpret schematics and design documentation. - Support troubleshooting of board- and system-level hardware issues. - Document test procedures, results, and findings.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. - Demonstrated interest and aptitude in hardware design, validation, and debugging. - Understanding of fundamental engineering concepts, including Digital logic design, Basic electronics, Circuit analysis, and Computer architecture. - Basic scripting (Python, Bash, or similar). - Familiarity with common laboratory equipment: Digital multimeter (DMM), Oscilloscope, and Bench power supplies. - Ability to read and understand electronic schematics.
Nice to have
- Experience with or exposure to FPGA development. - Experience with or exposure to Microcontrollers and embedded systems. - Experience with or exposure to DDR memory fundamentals. - Experience with or exposure to PCIe architecture and protocols. - Experience with or exposure to Common communication interfaces: I²C, SPI, UART. - Experience with or exposure to Linux-based debugging and development environments.
