About the role
As an R&D Hardware Engineer Intern in the Interferometer Electrical and Computer Engineering R&D group, you will design and develop software and electronics interfacing lasers and optics. You will assist engineers developing precision position electronics products from design through production release.
What you'll do
- Assist engineers in product design, analysis, prototyping, testing, and documentation for new hardware products. - Work on software and electronics that interface with lasers and optics. - Solve hardware engineering problems of varying scope and complexity during the transition of products to production.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or EECS. - Experience with high-performance RTL and associated verification and debug. - Experience with PCB physical mixed-signal design tools and flows. - Understanding of mixed-signal (Analog and Digital) circuits analysis and embedded uProcessor knowledge. - Programming experience with one or more of the following: Linux, Windows, or VxWorks, along with an understanding of operating systems and software drivers. - Availability to work full-time, in person, for 6–9 months (minimum 3-month commitment).
