This R&D Engineering Technician role focuses on prototype fabrication in support of new product and new customer development activities. The position involves tasks like materials processing, machining, lapping, equipment operation, planning, scheduling, data collection, reporting, inspection, and assembly.
What you'll do
- Focus on prototype fabrication for new product and customer development.
- Develop and improve processing methods for inorganic composite materials.
- Characterize materials properties and track processes and products.
- Measure dimensions using manual methods and computer controlled CMMs.
- Operate thermal processing equipment and controls.
- Conduct manufacturing trials for product/process development.
What you'll need
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Engineering or Science fields, or equivalent training and experience.
- Familiarity with manufacturing and/or lab environments.
- Experience with advanced equipment including materials processing, furnaces, CNC machining centers, and CMMs.
- Knowledge of assembly operations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Strong computer aptitude for data summaries and programmable equipment.
