About the role
This role involves designing and developing hardware abstraction layer software for BRCM switching silicon. You will work on software solutions for advanced switching ASICs.
What you'll do
- Design and develop hardware abstraction layer for BRCM switching silicon.
- Implement, document, and test high-quality software.
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, architects, software test, and silicon development.
- Deliver software for a dis-aggregated software solution.
- Design solutions and implement features independently.
What you'll need
- BS/MS in Computer Science or similar.
- 10+ years of experience in software development of packet forwarding, network OS, or embedded software.
- Strong skills in C, C++, Python.
- Experience working on industry switching ASICs.
- Hands-on experience using ASIC SDK to program forwarding plane data, including ipv4/ipv6 hosts and prefixes, adjacency, ARP and ND6, VRF, ECMP.
- Strong forwarding plane experience in applications such as L2, L3, ACL, QoS, Tunnels, SRv6, Telemetry.
- Strong problem solving and software troubleshooting skills.
Nice to have
- In-depth understanding of linux network drivers.
- Familiarity in working in an open source software development environment and tools such as Git, Jenkins, Gerrit.
