About the role
As an R&D Engineer 3 in Hardware, you will design oscillators, synthesizers, PLL circuitry, and other analog and digital circuitry for use in Keysight products. Working on-site in Santa Rosa, California, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the product lifecycle from initial concept through manufacturing.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and optimize oscillators, synthesizers, PLL circuits, and other analog and digital circuits to meet functionality, performance, quality, and schedule requirements. - Collaborate with system, hardware, software, and test teams to define hardware requirements and performance targets. - Model and optimize phase noise, broadband noise, gain margin, phase margin, stability, noise figure, and power consumption. - Develop RF circuits and transitions, select components, create schematics, and lay out circuitry using PCA design tools. - Work with new product introduction and partner technology teams to validate manufacturability and take designs from concept through product shipment. - Write comprehensive technical documentation, invention disclosures, and patent applications.
What you'll need
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. - Demonstrated experience in circuit design and PC board design. - Technical understanding of Electrical Engineering principles, signal integrity, oscillator design, PLL design, and phase noise reduction methodologies. - Knowledge of circuit theory, transmission line theory, and low-noise design. - Ability to perform lab-based measurement and hardware development on-site in Santa Rosa.
