About the role
This role involves the verification and validation of complex software for Onto Innovation's Inspection Business Unit.
What you'll do
- Perform requirements-based and system level testing across projects and platforms.
- Develop comprehensive test plans for new features and products.
- Investigate, reproduce, log, and escalate issues/defects.
- Develop and execute automated and manual tests, regression, functional, and acceptance tests.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of software.
- Perform design/code reviews for all automation scripts and manual test cases.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
- Proven experience (~5 years) in software testing and/or systems level testing for highly technical applications.
- Experience in scripting (Python, JavaScript, etc.).
- Experience testing client/server solutions.
- Experience with Windows development, the .NET platform (C#, C++), and relational databases (SQL Server a plus).
- Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
- Demonstrated experience debugging complex multi-threaded environments.
- Ability to travel internationally to customer sites at least 20% of the time.
Nice to have
- Experience working in the semiconductor industry.
- Experience testing AI/ML based solutions.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, AzureDevOps) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
